Swim Meet 101

Swimmer and volunteer check-in procedure
- Check-in will be about 1-2 hours before the start of a meet
- Swimmers are required to check in when they arrive and will be scratched from events if not
- Volunteers must check in with coaches before the start of the meet
- Each Y meet runs a little differently, check with your coach before attending

What should we bring?
- Cap & goggles
- At least 2 towels
- Sunscreen
- Parka/Robe (if desired)
- Comfy clothes/sweat pants
- Refillable Water Bottle
- Snacks and lunch
- Chair(s) to sit in

Snack suggestions
- Fresh Fruits: Bananas, apples, oranges, and grapes
- Energy Bars: Look for ones with protein and carbs
- Nuts and Seeds: Small portions of almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, etc.
- Pretzels or Rice Cakes: Light and easy on the stomach
- Drinks: Water and sports drinks for hydration

Timeline
- Meets typically run 4-5 hours depending on registration numbers
- Coaches will send out timelines before each meet
